Privacy policy

Last updated 24 August 2026

Daedalus is operated by Okamoto LLC (“we”). This policy explains what Daedalus accesses when you connect an account, why, and what we do and do not do with it. Daedalus is in closed beta.

What we access

Daedalus accesses your data only after you connect an account through the provider’s own consent screen, and only within the permissions listed below. These tables are generated from the permission sets the consent screens are built from, so they describe what is actually requested today — not everything Daedalus is permitted to ask for.

Google

PermissionWhy it is requested
https://www.googleapis.com/auth/gmail.modifyRead message content so correspondence needing attention can be identified and summarised, and — only for an action approved item-by-item — label, file, or draft a reply to it. Nothing is permanently deleted.
https://www.googleapis.com/auth/calendar.calendarlist.readonlySee which calendars exist so the correct one can be referenced.
https://www.googleapis.com/auth/calendar.eventsRead events so scheduling conflicts and upcoming obligations can be surfaced, and — only for an action approved item-by-item — create or update the specific event involved.
https://www.googleapis.com/auth/contactsResolve who a message or event involves, so people are named rather than shown as raw addresses.

How we use it

Connected account data is used for one purpose: providing the household assistant features to the household that connected it. Specifically, we use it to identify what needs attention, to assemble summaries and drafts for a person to review, and to record what a person approved.

Anything with an outward effect — sending, replying, filing, deleting, creating or changing a calendar entry — requires a person’s explicit approval of that specific action. Daedalus does not take outward actions on its own.

What we do not do

Limited Use

Daedalus’s use and transfer of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.

Human access

We do not read your messages, events, or contacts. The narrow exceptions are: with your explicit request or permission, such as when you ask for help with a specific problem; where necessary for security, such as investigating abuse or a vulnerability; or where required by law. Any such access is recorded.

Storage, retention, deletion

Data is processed and stored on infrastructure we operate in the United States, and is encrypted in transit and at rest. Data is segregated per household, and access is restricted to that household.

You can disconnect an account at any time from your account settings, or by revoking access at Google account permissions or your Microsoft account. Disconnecting stops further access immediately. To have stored data deleted, write to privacy@okamotollc.com; we delete it within 30 days except where we must retain records to comply with law.

Children

Daedalus is not directed to children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect their data.

Changes and contact

We will update this page if our practices change, and will change the date above. Questions, requests, and complaints: privacy@okamotollc.com.
